Philip Morris Romania and the National Customs Authority (ANV) are extending the duration of the Cooperation Agreement on joint efforts against cigarette smuggling and counterfeiting. The agreement regulates the framework of the cooperation against illegal tobacco trading in Romania.

"Illegal trading has a significant negative impact on the State budget, the legitimate market and the consumers. In our opinion, the successful countering of any form of illegal trading requires active and permanent cooperation between ANV and the tobacco industry," said Radu Traian Marginean, Vice President of ANV.

"The extension of our Cooperation Agreement is evidence of our commitment to support the Romanian authorities against illegal trading affecting the State, the legitimate producers, the distributors, retailers and consumers," said Roman Yazbeck, CEO of Philip Morris Romania.
