Piraeus Leasing reported 1,850 contracts worth 90 million EUR for the first six months of the current year, thus marking a 150% increase from the same period last year, due to the company"s development strategy, according to a Piraeus Leasing press release.
Automobiles and light commercial vehicles account for 40% of the company"s leasing portfolio, while commercial and utility vehicles represent 22%. Industrial equipment accounts for 10% of the leasing portfolio, while construction equipment represents 11.5% and property accounts for 12%.
In the first half of the year, Piraeus Leasing Romania increased its market share by over 1.5% and currently holds a 5% market share. Leasing contracts are expected to surpass 200 million EUR by the end of 2007, according to company representatives.
