PNL Deputy, Cristina Pocora, considers that the Minister of Agriculture, Ilie Sârbu, and the Minister of Public Finances, Gheorghe Pogea, should resign, because the two ministries are paying their upper higher employees salary and holiday bonuses.
Pocora shows that by order of the Minister of Agriculture himself, Ilie Sârbu, manager bonuses in the Ministry of Agriculture have increased 80% in the last few months.
However this goes against the anti-crisis measures taken by Prime Minister Emil Boc, who decided to cut bonuses for public employees.
The PNL deputy explained: "The decision of Minister Ilie Sârbu can only be deemed as irresponsible, given the catastrophic situation in Romania"s agriculture: delayed subsidies, lack of funds for irrigations and disastrous crops for 2009".
Referring to the Minister of Finance, Gheorghe Pogea, the PNL deputy said, in a press release, that the former "shows just as much recklessness", as he has decided to award EUR 13 million in holiday bonuses for ministry employees (around EUR 400 for each employee).
In closing, PNL deputy Cristina Pocora accuses Prime-Minister Emil Boc that not only does he ignore these actions, he actually condones them.
"He should honestly admit that belt tightening does not apply to Ministry higher-ups, the camarilla of the PD-L-PSD government, but just to simple employees, like the ones of the CFR (Romanian Railway Company), which are being threatened with layoffs", PNL deputy concluded.
