The premier Victor Ponta, thanked the Parliament yesterday, right from the start of the government meeting, for "readopting the Law in terms of subsidies for green energy, a law that allows us to keep the prices within normal limits".

The premier states that president Băsescu remitted the law back to the Parliament, in order to rise the prices for population, but that "the Parliament voted again an European law, a good law, a law for the benefit of the consumers from Romania and we will have the law in maximum 10 days, and consequently be able to keep the energy prices competitive". The minister Constantin Niţă added: "Under this law, we aim to drop by 85% the number of green certificates for the large energy consumers, according to the last approvals of the European Commission issued at the end of the year".

Victor Ponta concluded that the new minister of Economy, Teodor Atanasiu, will have to deal, beside the issues known, from Oltchim and Cupru Min, with the issue of the large consumers, starting from ArcelorMittal.
