Car importer Porsche Romania sold 26,544 units in the first six months of the current year, recording a 38% rise from 19,214 vehicles in the same period of 2006, according to company data quoted by NewsIn.
The company recorded a nearly 50% rise in sales of Volkswagen cars and commercial vehicles, which totaled 10,033 and 1,600 units, respectively.
Porche Romania sold 68 Porsche cars, up 84% from the same period last year. Skoda gained 28%, with 11,347 units sold. The company sold 2.124 Seat cars, up 32% from H1 2006, while Audi sales increased by 52% to 1,311 units.
Porsche Romania expects sales to increase to 53,000 units in the current fiscal year, compared with 43,541 units sold in 2006. Last year, the company reported a turnover of 2.64 billion RON (750 million EUR), while net profit rose by 27% yoy, amounting to 220.4 million RON (62.6 million EUR).
