Employees of Electrica sued the company and the Ministry of the Economy for denying their right to buy up to 10% of the shares of the former division of Electrica Oltenia. Adolf Mureşan, chairman of the Univers Union Federation said: "The employee associations succeeded in having the court award them a presidential decree that prevents the Ministry of the Economy and Electrica from selling the State"s stake in the company to CEZ until the case is solved. I hope the authorities abide by the decision of the court, even though the Government"s decision to sell these shares to CEZ has already been published in the Official Gazette, and it does not include the percentage the company"s employees were allocated by law".

He claims that the Ministry of the Economy and Electrica had the obligation to draw up the norms for the application of the law which entitles the employees of Electrica to buy shares in the privatized branches. Adolf Mureşan claims that he informed the Ministry of the Economy about backing this ordnance, before the Government"s decree was published in the Official Gazette.

According to the law published Monday in the Official Gazette, the Government approved the main terms of the contract by which shares in Electrica would be sold to CEZ Distribuţie (CEZ Distribution - ed. note) (18.99%) and CEZ Vânzare (CEZ Sales - ed. note) (18.99%). The state will receive around 145.35 million Euros, corresponding to a price of 10.7 Euros/share.
