EnglishEdible oil producer Prutul - Galati is planning to increase sales of the Spornic brand by 35% this year, following a 33% y/y increase in Q1. Last year"s turnover marked a 63% growth from 24 million EUR in the first 9 months of 2006 to over 39 million EUR in the corresponding period of 2007. The Spornic brand accounts for 60% of the company"s business.
The company also sells the edible oils Picasol and Prutul and is counted among the top four edible oil producers in Romania. The Romanian market for edible oil has been estimated at 220 million litres and 200 million EUR per year. The other top players are Bunge, Cargill and Argus.
