Diplomas will no longer be what they used to be, simple pieces of paper attesting to the completion of a school or a training course. The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, announced that starting this year, in higher education, the doctoral diploma will contain a QR code that will provide access to information facilitating the validation and compliance of diplomas directly in the Ministry of Education's database. In addition, from the academic year 2024-2025, all study documents issued to graduates will be prepared in Romanian and English and will be accompanied by the diploma supplement only in Europass format. "This measure will be extended to all study documents issued to graduates of higher education, regardless of the year of enrollment, starting from the academic year 2024-2025. These are the provisions of a draft Government Decision launched for public consultation by the Ministry of Education," Deca wrote on a social network. According to the draft, in the academic year 2023-2024, the study documents issued to graduates of higher education are accompanied by the diploma supplement and the Europass diploma supplement, the models of which are provided in the Government Decisions in force. "Starting with the academic year 2024-2025, the study documents issued to graduates of higher education, regardless of the year of enrollment, are accompanied only by the diploma supplement in Europass format," the draft stipulates. Diplomas are also entering the 21st century.
