Radu Vasilescu is the new CEO of insurance company Unita as of yesterday. The company has been recently acquired by the Austrian-based insurer Uniqa. "We will focus on rebranding, which we hope to finish in the first quarter of next year," said Vasilescu.
The future projects concern tapping the life insurance market and starting a medical insurance business, which the parent company Uniqa has under control in Austria, with a market share of over 50%. The future Uniqa company in Romania will also focus on expanding distribution channels and offer valuable career opportunities to those interested in joining this business, Vasilescu said.
Although Uniqa is very successful on the international market for farming insurance, the Romanian subsidiary has not yet considered this segment, he added. Prior to becoming the CEO of Unita, Vasilescu was the CEO of ING Pension Fund.
