Raiffeisen Bank Romania, the local subsidiary of the Austrian financial group Raiffeisen, reported assets worth 4.936 billion EUR in the first half of 2007, thus marking a 6.4% increase from the same period last year, according to a financial report published by the parent company.
At the end of 2006, Raiffeisen Bank Romania"s assets totalled 13.8 billion RON (4.09 billion EUR), which made it the third largest bank in Romania, with an 8.03% market share, acording to data published by the NBR.
Raiffeisen"s banking business in Romania advanced significantly, mainly due to an increase in fee revenues and deposits at the NBR. Currently, Raiffeisen Bank Romania operates a branch network consisting of 337 units and employs 5,145 people.
Raiffeisen International posted a consolidated net profit of 401 million EUR in the first half of the year, recording a 39% increase from the same period last year. Raiffeisen Group is present in Romania through its subsidiaries Raiffeisen Bank Romania, Raiffeisen Banca pentru Locuinte, Raiffeisen Leasing, Raiffeisen Capital & Investment, Raiffeisen Asset Management and Raiffeisen Investment Romania.
