The price drops seen on the real estate market lately affect the current market value of buildings that companies include in their real estate evaluation report, "Media City" realtors say. Companies can benefit from the price drops on the real estate market by requesting the revaluation of the buildings that are part of their assets. This revaluation could help companies pay lower building taxes, because the latter are calculated based on the minimum rate and on the current market values, which have reached two-year lows, according to a press release sent to our editors. The tax rate for companies is set by Local Council decisions. This tax rate can vary between 0.25% and 1.5% of the book value for buildings which are part of the company"s assets that the company revaluated at least once in the last three years prior to the reference fiscal year. For companies that did not conduct any revaluation of the buildings in the last three years prior to the fiscal reference year, the tax rate will vary between 5% and 10%.
