The Romanian Academy has signed a scientific partnership agreement with the French Embassy and a collaboration convention with the French Institute in Romania. The signing ceremony took place at the Academicians' Club, the two documents being signed by the president of the Romanian Academy, acad. Ioan-Aurel Pop, and the French ambassador, Nicolas Warnery, and the director of the French Institute, Julien Chiappone-Lucchesi. The partnership will include two areas of collaboration, namely: the organization of thematic seminars held at the Romanian Academy by scientific figures from France and the granting of three doctoral scholarships carried out under co-supervision. The cycle of seminars in the field of humanities and social sciences will be ensured by the French side through the Centre regional francophone d'etudes avancees en sciences humaines et sociales / Centrul regional francophone de studii avancees ín scientiênte umaniste (CEREFREA) and involves holding these seminars at the Romanian Academy or in research institutes in the academic system, meetings of French lecturers with members of the Romanian Academy and with researchers, visits to the research laboratories of the Romanian Academy. The co-supervision doctoral program aims to promote the mobility of doctoral students, with the aim of developing scientific cooperation between French and Romanian research teams. The scholarships will be awarded to doctoral students from Romania to carry out research internships in France, within the framework of doctoral studies, under the supervision of a Romanian professor and a French professor. Each scholarship will have a total duration of 12 months, distributed within a three-year program, and will be financed equally by the two signatory parties.
