The Romanian Cultural Institute in New York supports the participation of two Romanian contemporary art galleries at two of the most important art fairs in Miami: Catinca Tăbăcaru Gallery at the "NADA" Contemporary Art Fair, held from December 5-9, 2023, and Jecza Gallery at the "UNTITLED" Contemporary Art Fair, taking place from December 6-10, 2023. Both events are part of the "Miami Art Week" 2023. The two galleries will showcase works by artists Nona Inescu, Rachel Monosov, Constantin Flondor, and Tincuţa Marin.

Catinca Tăbăcaru Gallery will be present at the 21st edition of the "NADA" Contemporary Art Fair, held from December 5-9, 2023, at Ice Palace Studios, Miami, USA, as part of the globally renowned "Miami Art Week." The gallery's booth features a contemporary art project, a collaboration between artists Nona Inescu and Rachel Monosov. For "NADA," Nona Inescu created "Sarcophagi," a new series of steel works and sculptures of tropical plants. Dried tropical plants are framed in the steel structure, evoking memories of preservation during historical expeditions and prompting reflection on the complex outcomes of contemporary botanical transport. The movement of plants (and entire ecosystems) around the globe, from colonial times to the present, affects the global order, creating constantly changing economies and landscapes. Rachel Monosov, in turn, questions power structures, the meaning of freedom, and space in her multidisciplinary practice. NADA Miami 2023 presents a diverse selection of 140 galleries, art spaces, and nonprofit organizations from over 50 cities worldwide, including San Juan, Paris, Chicago, Memphis, Brussels, Beijing, and, of course, Romania.

On the other hand, Jecza Gallery is participating for the first time in the "UNTITLED" Contemporary Art Fair during "Miami Art Week," another significant event in the global contemporary art scene. The gallery's booth at the fair aims to present the legacy of Romanian painting through the practice of two emblematic artists from the recent history of contemporary art: artist Constantin Flondor, who turns 87 this year, and Tincuţa Marin, an artist with a remarkable exhibition presence in recent years. Neither artist has been exhibited in the United States before. This initiative provides a unique opportunity to explore and compare how two temporally separated generations approach visual language in the context of Romanian history and culture. It is an invitation to dialogue and reflection on continuity and diversity in Romanian art. Jecza Gallery's participation in the 2023 edition of the art fair promises to be a significant event, considering the success recorded in the previous year, with over 140 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors. This represents a major opportunity to increase the visibility of the gallery, the involved Romanian artists, and the cultural profile of Romania on the international stage. The participation of these two galleries in Miami Art Week 2023 is a major opportunity to increase their visibility, the visibility of the participating artists, and the cultural profile of Romania on the international stage.
