Romaqua has invested 40 million EUR in the Albacher Brewery in Sebes, making it into the technologically most modern brewery in the world, according to Romaqua CEO Octavian Cretu. "The Albacher Brewery combines the most modern technologies available, which make it the only one of its kind in the world," Cretu said. With a 40 million EUR investment and a 4 million EUR logistic center, the brewery has a production capacity of 1 million hectoliters. Upon the inauguration, the Romaqua CEO said beer production was not the primary target of the Romaqua Borsec Group, which intended to further develop on the mineral water and soft drinks markets. "The market for mineral water will surely grow very much and we are counting on Romania being much below the European average in mineral water consumption," Cretu said. He also hinted that the land around the Albacher Brewery would be used to develop other investments, too, including mineral water and soft drink bottling facilities.
