"Romgaz" Medias preliminary financial results for 2006 report 3.053.271.000 RON (approximately 872 mln EUR) in turnover and a net profit of 352.055.000 RON (approximately 100 mln EUR). According to data published by the company"s management, revenues increased last year by 127% compared to 2005. "Romgaz" reported a 136% increase in turnover for 2006, compared to the previous year.
Last year, the company invested around 710 mln RON in drilling works, geological research, storage capacity development and modernisation of equipment. For this year, the company plans 660 mln RON investments in similar objectives.
"Romgaz" Medias intends to continue expanding its natural gas exploration activities on foreign markets, due to our country"s limited resources. The company provides approximately half of the annual natural gas production, namely 13 bn cubic maters, the other big producer being "Petrom-OMV".
