EnglishRussian investment and building concern Rosatomstroi acquired the majority stake in Metalexportimport, according to sources from SC Fortus SA Iasi, which is controled by Bucharest-based company. Rosatomstroi paid approximately 5 million EUR in order to acquire Metalexportimport, which holds 64.96% in heavy machinery plant Fortus Iasi. This was not Rosatomstroi"s first attempt to take over Fortus Iasi. Last year, the company launched a 5.5 million EUR offer for Metalexportimport"s stake in Fortus, but was unsuccessful.
The Iasi-based metallurgical equipment plant ended last year with losses of 38,418,371 RON, while turnover amounted to 42.737 million RON. The company"s debt totaled 174,508,177 million RON.
