Sales of BMW grow strongly in China, US and Great Britain

"Bayerische MotorenWerke" AG (BMW), the world"s largest luxury carmaker, has seen its sales increase 9.1% YOY in July, on the back of demand from China, US and Great Britain.

According to the announcement made yesterday by the German company, deliveries of BMW vehicles increased from 109,933 in July 2009 to 119,982 units in July 2010. Over the first seven months of 2010, the company"s sales increased 12.5% to 816,014 units.

Sales in China increased 82%, to 13,852 vehicles in July, and sales in the US increased 10%, to 23,390 vehicles. In Great Britain, sales increased 26%, to 11,748 units sold. Great Britain had the largest increase in sales of all of the company"s European markets.

In Germany, the company"s domestic market, where car sales have been weak these past few months, deliveries of BMW increased 3.6% in July.

"Our sales have increased for 11 months in a row", BMW officials announced, as they expect the trend to continue in the following months.

The sales manager of BMW, Ian Robertson, said that the company"s deliveries will continue to see a solid growth in the future.

BMW expects its sales to increase 10% in 2010, exceeding 1.4 million units.

The company"s competitor - German carmaker "Audi" , last week announced its sales increased 7.7% in July, due to record deliveries in China and the US.
