Scandia Romana Reports Turnover of Over 45 Mln EUR

Scandia Romana SA, the domestic leader on the canned meat market, posted 45,7 million EUR in turnover for 2006, up 20% compared to 2005, when the company reported a turnover of 38 million EUR, according to a company press release. In 2006, the brands Pate Sibiu, Pate Bucegi, Cardinali and Traditii had a significant contribution to the company"s turnover.

For 2007, Scandia Romana estimates a 15% rise in turnover, through the consolidation of existing brands and the expansion of the company"s product portfolio. In 2007, the company will begin exporting some of its products. Currently, Scandia Romana has over 900 employees and produces four categories of canned products: pates, canned meat, wursts and ready-to-eat canned food. According to official data, the Romanian canned meat market amounts to 52 million EUR and for 2007, Scandia officials estimate a 5% growth in this market.
