Schaeffler Romania, which owns a plant in Cristian, in the county of Braşov, expects its output to increase 15% in 2012 compared to the level of 1.2 billion lei which will be reached at the end of this year, said Alexandru Blemovici, the managing director of the company. He also mentioned that next year, the company will hire approximately 400 people, with the number of employees to reach 4,000.

The product range has remained the same as it was last year - linear guiding systems, car parts, big ball bearings, ball bearing parts, such as cages and rollers, but next year, production will be diversified to include three new products - normal cylindrical ball bearings, oscillating sliding joints, and, for the car industry, camshaft phase shifter.

So far, the German company has invested over 450 million Euros in the plant of Cristian, and it plans to open an Engineering Center with a surface of approximately 3,000 square meters. "As a result, our plant will enter the select few which conduct R&D for new products of the Schaeffler Group", said Alexandru Blemovici, the managing director of Schaeffler Romania.
