The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, argues that the new high school programs need to be completed as soon as possible, with the School Inspectorate playing a supportive role in the development of teaching activities. According to the minister: "The school we desire - inclusive, equitable, and high-performing - requires quality management. We need to rethink how we approach learning. The new high school programs can no longer be delayed. The School Inspectorate must play a supporting role in the development of teaching activities." These were some of the messages conveyed during the meeting with school inspectors general from across the country. I wanted this meeting, especially in the context of already implementing provisions of the new Pre-University Education Law. The school inspectors general, along with colleagues from the Ministry of Education and people in schools, are the ones whose support we need to implement real reforms in the system." Deca stated that, whether discussing the application of specific school legislation, the implementation of projects, finding solutions to reduce school dropout rates, improving literacy levels, or enhancing children's participation in national exams, it must be considered that the school is a reflection of the management practiced by those with this responsibility.
