Science: MEET competition between 20 robotics teams

Domestic robotics is animated by great local and international ambitions. The municipality of Brăila hosts for the first time the first MEET robotics competition, an event organized by the "Helix" robotics team of the County Library and the "RoSophia" robotics team from Galati. According to the "Panait Istrati" County Library from Brăila: "The robotics team of the "Panait Istrati" County Library from Brăila - "Helix", together with their friends from the "RoSophia" robotics team from Galati, joined forces and, under the patronage of Brăila County Council and Brăila City Hall, with the direct involvement of the "Panait Istrati" County Library from Brăila and the National Association of Librarians and Public Libraries in Romania (ANBPR) - Brăila Branch, will organize the first MEET type competition between 20 teams of robotics, which will take place at the Youth Palace in Brăila, Calea Călăraşilor no. 52, on January 13, 2024, starting at 11:00 a.m., for the general public". The teams registered for this year's edition of the First Tech Challenge will go through 45 local MEET competitions, where they will test their technical skills and game strategy, one such competition being the one in Brăila, where the teams will have the opportunity to the points required for promotion to the next stage, the regional one, are collected. According to the organizers: "It is a special occasion for all those passionate or interested in robotics and STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) from Brăila and not only to witness the live performance of a stage of the First Tech Challenge Romania contest ( FTC), which has become the strongest robotics event in Romania with over 200 teams, also registered in an international calendar, and in which the two organizing teams, Helix and RoSophia, awarded at the other editions of the competition, participate, as well as the teams from Suceava, Botoşani, Neamţ, Iaşi, Bacău, Vaslui, Vrancea, Buzau, Tulcea, Ialomiţa, Călăraşi, Constanţa. We are waiting for you, therefore, without age limit, at a premiere event, a unique event, full of passion, inventiveness, intelligence and competitiveness, an event that will show you what the future looks like through the eyes of truly extraordinary young people, in an atmosphere like you've never experienced before". In addition to the FTC competition, on Sunday, January 14, also at Casa Tineretului, there will be "ROBOFEST DUAL EDITION", an event with free entry where visitors will be able to see exhibitions of robots of all categories, prepared by the two organizing robotics teams and to the hundreds of children who take part in the event.

More specifically, from the powerful robots that participate in the biggest robotics competition for high school students, the FIRST Tech Challenge, to Lego robots that follow lines and perform tasks on competition boards, at Robofest you will be able to see dozens of inventions made by students from Brăila and Galati counties, say the organizers.
