According to the National Report for the Euro-Barometer carried out in spring 2007, Romanians continue to have, even after accession, a constant attitude of trust in the European construction (65%).
Euro-Barometer data show that level of "satisfaction with everyday life" in Romania for the average citizen, both on the short (43%) and medium term (57%), is over the average registered in the Union, no matter if it refers to citizens from the new (35% and 42%) or old member states (37% and 43%).
Moreover, internet access levels, although under the European average, offer supplementary resources of trust in the EU and optimism as regards the national and individual economic situation.
Trust in the Union has registered a surprising upward trend both in the old member states (from 42% to 55%) and in the new ones (from 59% to 66%). As for advantages due to EU membership, over 60% of European citizens consider their country has benefited from this status.
Romanian concerns, as regards the public agenda, are more linked to economic development (44%), healthcare (27%) and prices and inflation (27%) than in the NMS or EU15.
As compared with levels of trust in the EU and its institutions, Romanians manifest a lower confidencein own government and parliament (19%), due partially also to the data collecting period.
