Steaua Romana Refinery, based in Campina, posted a net profit of 416,004 RON (178,957 USD) in the first six months of the year, as operating profit rose nearly 6% from the corresponding period of 2006, according to a report to Rasdaq. In the first half of 2006, the refinery reported losses of 980,924 RON.
The company"s turnover rose by 3.6% to 142.59 million RON (61.33 million USD) in the first six months, as compared with 137.59 million RON in the same period last year.
Steaua Romana Refinery has a share capital of 4.13 million RON, divided into 41.3 million shares with a face value of 0.10 RON. The majority shareholder in the company is Omnimpex Chemicals SA with 82.46%, followed by SIF Muntenia (SIF4) with 5.7% and other minority shareholders (11.84%). Steaua Romana Refinery is listed on Rasdaq as STRO.
