"Stem Sure", a representative office of "StemCare", the largest bank of stem cells in the Scandinavian region, is a Romanian-Danish joint-venture. In the fourth quarter of 2010, "Stem Sure" performed approximately 350 stem cell harvests, becoming the second largest company on the Romanian market for stem cells.
The number of harvests led to a turnover of 350,000 Euros. These results have allowed "Stem Sure" to exceed 1 million Euros in turnover in 2010. Dr. Bogdan Ivănescu, the president of "Stem Sure" estimates that "this year"s turnover target of 1.5 million Euros is perfectly realizable".
"What < Stem Sure > promises its clients is to provide services at European standards of quality, moral responsibility to the future mothers, families, and to all those involved in the miraculous act of birth. At the same time, we want to support the Romanian medical society in order to turn stem cell harvesting into a medical service accessible to anybody", said Dr. Bogdan Ivănescu.
"Stem Sure" brings together several unified features, that most companies in South Eastern Europe can only provide separately. At the same time, the company is the only one in Romania and in this region of Europe to provide its customers with the result of the processing of the placenta blood sample within 36 hours on average after the sample was taken.
"Stem Sure" customers are divided into three categories: customers that approach the company on the internet, those who are sent by the doctors that are familiar with the company and customers who were referred by partner clinics.
Out of the 22 employees of "Stem Sure", 12 are medical representatives, who maintain a permanent connection of between the company and clinics, hospitals and maternities all over the country.
"Stem Care", the partner of "Stem Sure", is the largest Stem Cell Bank in Scandinavia and is one of the most important institutions of that type in Europe. The activity of "Stem Care" takes place in Denmark, which, together with Sweden, is acknowledged as a world leader of the public healthcare system. "Stem Care" includes "Stem Care" DK as commercial affiliate, "Stem Sure Solutions" of Romania as commercial affiliate and BioBank Denmark as the Bank which stores the stem cells.
"Stem Care" is part of the Sun Stone Capital Group of Copenhagen whose basic activities are biotechnology and investments in the medical sector. In 2010, the Group had a turnover of 6.7 billion Euros.
