Stihl Romania, the local subsidiary of Germany based Andreas Stihl AG, estimates a 20% rise in sales this year. The company also expects to maintain its 15% market share of the domestic motor and garden tools market, according to company representatives.
Last year, Stihl Romania recorded a 20% increase in turnover, compared with 2005, when the company posted 66.6 million RON (18.40 million EUR) in turnover. In 2005, the company reported a net profit of 12.7 million RON (3.5 million EUR).
Stihl Romania inaugurated in 2005 its retail and distribution centre in Otopeni near Bucharest, following a 3 million EUR investment. The centre stretches on some 10,000 square meters and has a retail space of over 3,000 square meters. The company"s investments in Romania total 5 million EUR.
