Yesterday, the Prime Minister, Calin Popescu Tariceanu said that Romania will not be affected by the international financial crisis. From his point of view, the turbulence seen on the Romanian stock-exchange has been determined by the financial situation of the foreign investors that were forced to sell their shares, and not by a dimished confidence in the financial state of the country. " The international financial crisis will not affect the economy or the citizens", the Prime Minister granted. He suggested that the stock-exchanges are very fragile, including at the politicians" declarations. "Taking into consideration the economic development tendency from Romania, in the future I just see one single thing: the stock exchange will return on its normal path", the Prime Minister declared, quoted by Newsin. Tariceanu believes also that the financial situation from SUA could have even positive results and he motivates that the real estate assets from USA will cheapen and could become even accessible for the Romanian customers. The General Secretary of the Romanian Business People Association, Cristian Parvan, considered the Prime Minister"s declarations as " simply electoral". Parvan believes that our financial intermediary system is extremely "poor" in comparison with the one from the West. " In our country, the financial intercession is very week, of about 34%, while in Central Europe it can reach 80% and in the West Europe over 120%, Parvan explained. However, the business peoples" representative admitted that Romanian people could take advantage out of the decline from the real estate market in SUA.
Tariceanu stays calm: Romania will not be affected by the international financial crisis.
