The board of the company Tehnoton SA (symbol: THNI, listed on the Rasdaq tier of the Bucharest Stock Exchange) scheduled a General Meeting of Shareholders on February 27th, 2010, with the main item on the agenda being the taking of a five million lei loan. The shareholders will also need to decide on a 750,000 lei limit for letters of bank guarantee.
SC Tehnoton SA Iaşi, incorporated by Government Decree no. 160/1991, is a spin off of former state owned company "Tehnoton", of which it received 89.5% of its assets. The company was privatized in December 2000. Currently, SC "Omega IS Communications" SRL of Iaşi owns 72.59% of the shares, with the remaining stock belonging to individuals and legal entities. The company"s main line of business includes making non-electrical household appliances (gas cookers, semiautomatic washing machines) as well as products for industrial and professional use. the latter are sold to companies operating in the area of railway transportation, electricity distribution and communications.
