EnglishTenarisSilcotub Calarasi on Friday has completed the 35.7 million EUR contractual investments in Donasid five years ahead, acording to a company announcement. The investment program was scheduled to end in 2012. The company invested mainly in environment care and technical equipment, in order to increase the plant"s production capacity. Tenaris, the world"s largest steel pipe producer, took over the Donasid Calarasi steel mill two years ago. Tenaris also controls the Romanian pipe producer Silcotub Zalau.
TenarisSilcotub, listed on the Bucharest Stock exchange, reported a net profit of 40.36 million RON (12 million EUR) for the first quarter of the current year, up 2.3 times from the same period last year. Turnover amounted to 190.79 million RON (56.87 million EUR) in the first three months, recording a 23,6% increase from the year-ago quarter.
