EnglishRomanian-based thermal and electric energy producer Termoelectrica has resumed negotiations with Mechel for the modernization of CET Doicesti (Electro-Thermal Plant Doicesti), although not for building a new generator, but for overhauling the existing one, Ministry of Economy Secretary of State Tudor Serban announced yesterday.
"Selection processes were organized before in order to find an investor for Doicesti, but to no avail. It appears that Termoelectrica has resumed talks with Mechel, one of the companies that participated in such selection processes, and they will provide an answer soon. The current approach is to overhaul two generators of CET Doicesti," Serban said.
Termoelectrica previously negotiated the construction of the thermal power plant in Doicesti with Electrabel, too.
