Through the secondary listing of the Proprietatea Fund (FP) on the London Stock Exchange we want to attract additional demand for the shares in the portfolio of the Proprietatea Fund from investors that have no placements in Romania, says Marius Dan, Investor Relations Manager at Franklin Templeton, the manager of the Proprietatea Fund.
He said that there are a large number of institutional investors that have not opened accounts in Romania, "for one reason or another", which the Proprietatea Fund wants to attract through this secondary listing.
"New investors will be attracted through separate stock placements, facilitated by the existing shareholders", the representative of Franklin Templeton explained, who added that those would be accelerated placements and/or individual trades concerning the regular market.
Marius Dan says that the secondary listing of the Proprietatea Fund in London will happen at the end of this month or in the beginning of October, taking into account the seasonality of the financial markets and the current political schedule, as the Fund gets the necessary permits from the ASF.
The representative of Franklin Templeton emphasizes the fact that through the listing in London, the companies in the portfolio of the Proprietatea Fund will gain visibility among foreign investors.
The listing of the Proprietatea Fund on the London Stock Exchange will be aimed both at British investors, as well as at foreign institutional investors that have 100 million dollars in assets under management and that are not present in Romania.
On the other hand, Marius Dan highlights the fact that Franklin Templeton will soon get involved in the process for improving the financial education of retail investors, in order to help them in correctly assessing products.
According to Franklin Templeton, the Proprietatea Fund will be the third biggest fund listed on the London Stock Exchange, in terms of NAV and market capitalization, out of the 422 funds present on the British exchange.
