The "Grigore T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF) in Iaşi is hosting the Annual Conference of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) until October 7th. The theme of the conference is "Digital Transformation for Healthcare Professions: Patient Care, Medical Education, and Research." Prof. Viorel Scripcariu, MD, PhD, Rector of UMF Iaşi and member of the AMSE Executive Committee, and Prof. Harm Peters, MD, PhD, President of AMSE, conveyed in a statement: "The AMSE 2023 conference will provide medical schools with a platform to share their experiences and best practices in leveraging digital technologies for patient care, medical education, and research. Through the AMSE General Assembly and other conference activities, participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about AMSE's ongoing initiatives and objectives. These include promoting the highest standards of medical education and research, encouraging collaboration and innovation among medical schools in Europe, and addressing emerging issues and challenges facing medical education and research in the digital age. We hope that this conference will inspire new ideas and collaborations that will shape the future of digital healthcare in Europe and beyond." According to the organizers, this year's AMSE Conference will be divided into three sections: Education, Research, and Patient Care. During these sections, lectures, presentations, roundtable discussions, and workshops will be held. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and best practices in harnessing digital technologies and addressing the issues and challenges that medical education and research face in the digital era. Renowned figures in the field will join the event in an effort to identify visionary solutions to the challenges brought about by digital transformation, including Prof. Trevor Gibbs, MD, former President of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) and consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO); Prof. Ken Masters, MD, a professor of medical informatics at the Department of Medical Education and Informatics, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, and author of the AMEE Guide to AI in Medical Education; and world-renowned education experts Prof. Ronald M.
