Romania"s "Transelectrica" and Hungary"s "Mavir" will commission on Friday, the connection between Arad and Bekescsaba. The project cost 25,7 million Euros and spans 94 km, of which 56 on Romanian territory and 38 on Hungarian territory. According to a "Transelectrica", communiqué, the 400 kV Arad - Nădab - Bekescsaba line is the first to have been built after approximately 20 years and it has represented one of the priorities of the government"s platform in the electrical energy sector. The project also includes an 400kV electrical power station of Nădab, 400 kV aerial electrical lines between Arad and Nădab (34 km) and between Nădab and Bekescsaba (60 km, of which 22 km on Romanian territory). The interconnection supplies a consumption area of 1.000 MW to in the North-Western area of of the Romanian electric energy system.
