The "BURSA" press group won the special award for 25 years of unbiased press, on Tuesday night, at the Capital Market Awards Gala, organized by the Association of Brokers.
The president of the "BURSA" press group, MAKE, said that the Bucharest Stock Exchange is BURSA's soulmate and offered Dan Paul, the vice-president of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, a small bouquet of flowers on the anniversary of 20 years since the reestablishment of the BSE.
"We have brought a bouquet of flowers for the Bucharest Stock Exchange, but I don't know if Ludwik Sobolewski will allow you to accept it", MAKE told Dan Paul, alluding to the fact that the members of the Council of the Exchange, are not allowed to make statements on behalf of the institution, with the exception of the CEO. The Association of Brokers has offered anniversary plates, as a sign of appreciation for the creation of a modern capital market in Romania to George Constantin Păunescu, Stere Farmache, Virgil Anastasiu, Siminel Andrei, Teodor Nicolaescu, Adrian Simionescu, Costin Donoaica and Petru Prunea.
Awards were also granted to the first team of the BSE: Ionuţ Manole, Ileana Botez, Lucian Baiaş, Ştefan Nănescu, Iulia Stanciu, Emanuel Ionescu, Horia Sas, Mircea Ilie, Ionuţ Niţu, Angela Ene and Daniela Corina Zlataru.
The Association of Brokers has also conferred its traditional awards, for the best performing issuers this year.
The award for the biggest turnover went to Banca Transilvania, while OMV Petrom was granted the award for the highest capitalization.
The award for the biggest dividend yield went to Conted S.A. Dorohoi.
Brokers have also praised the initiatives of Rasdaq issuers who moved to the BSE: Albalact, IAR Braşov, Prebet Aiud, Mecanică Fină, Romcab Târgu Mureş.
The award for local issuers listed on the Aero market in 2015 was granted to Bittnet Systems, while, in the bonds section, awards were conferred to the Mayoralty of Bucharest, International Investment Bank and Imocredit IFN.
SIF Oltenia received the award for independent investment policy, and SIF Moldova got the award for the initiative to consolidate the face value of its stock.
Mircea Ursache, vice-president of the Financial Oversight Authority, was praised for the action towards the creation of a Romanian Central Counterparty, but he stressed that the award should go to the whole team.
Mihai Fercală, Executive Chairman and - Director General SIF Transilvania, was awarded for 23 years of activity at the helm of SIF Transilvania.
