The date for the sale by the Romanian government of a 15% stake in Transgaz will be notified this week, the Minister of the Economy, Daniel Chiţoiu said on Friday. He said that the intermediary of the listing and the consultants will make a recommendation concerning the moment of the listing, while taking into account the current political context.
The listings of Romgaz and Nuclearelectrica are on schedule, according to minister Chiţoiu, who said that the international financial institutions will not penalize the government for the delays: "There were certain deadlines stipulated in the agreement with the IMF, but in two months of being in power we could not recover the delays of the previous governments. For Romgaz and Nuclearelectrica, the listings were expected to take place at the end of this year".
Nuclearelectrica has restarted the process for the selection of the intermediary which will assist in the listing of the company on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and has set the date of September 10th as the new deadline for submitting the offers. The call for bids was initially supposed to take place on May 21st, but it was suspended in order to improve the tender book.
