Dan Paul, the president of the Association of Brokers, said that he does not believe that bank deposits will be seized to rescue the financial institutions, because it would mean a violation of human rights: "It's true that politicians can invent anything. Still, after last year's experience in Cyprus, this danger exists, and the stock market is an alternative for placing one's savings".
Dan Paul says that our capital market is in the "frontier market" category, with low trading volumes, and he mentioned that "shares can represent another investment option, but they do have ups and downs, or sometimes they can get stolen".
He said he wants the depoliticization and the increase of the level of professionalism at the Financial Oversight Authority (ASF), so that the Romanian capital market can grow.
