CEI - The Central European Initiative supports regional political and economic cooperation between countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Summit Economic Forum is the main annual event held by the CEI, in particular involving participation from the Ministers of the Economy of CEI member countries, which include Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine. This year, the reunion was held in Bucharest (November 11-12), and received many important guests. The main issues that concerned the ministers of the Economy was securing funding during the crisis, strengthening cooperation in the energy sector between the CEI member states in order to avoid another energy crisis this winter, the interconnection projects intended to increase the number of available energy sources. The ministers and officials of the World Bank, of the EIB, the EBRD, the WTO and the OECD have emphasized the issues that Europe is now facing and expressed guarded optimism concerning the evolution of Central and Eastern Europe in 2010.
