Science can be very spectacular and accessible to a wide audience. Renowned researchers, both nationally and internationally, will interact with science enthusiasts at the European Researchers' Night, an event that will take place on September 29th in Bucharest and 27 other cities in Romania. The event is an initiative of the European Commission and has been appreciated by the public since its first edition in 2005, thanks to its innovative character, making science accessible to all. Visitors take part in scientific activities that combine education with entertainment, including exhibitions, experiments in which the public actively participates, conferences, presentations, games, and contests. According to the organizers, the journey into the world of science will be guided by the friendliest researchers in the country, who have prepared unique experiments for the public, presentations of the most innovative projects, amazing demonstrations, interactive workshops, and interesting scientific debates. Contests and surprises will spice up the atmosphere at the events in Bucharest, Alba Iulia, Arad, Bacău, Bârlad, Brăila, Bumbeşti-Jiu, Buzău, Călăraşi, Câmpia Turzii, Constanţa, Deva, Făgăraş, Galaţi, Hunedoara, Mediaş, Oradea, Petrila, Piatra Neamţ, Ploieşti, Suceava, Târgovişte, Târgu Neamţ, Târgu Jiu, Timişoara, Titu, Tulcea, and Zalău. The European Researchers' Night is part of the "Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions" series and is an event that attracts over 1.5 million visitors annually. In 2023, the European Researchers' Night is organized in 26 countries, and over 400 cities in Europe and beyond will host the event, aiming to show the public what it means to be a researcher and how exciting research work can be.
