The current law of unemployment must be amended, to stop the discrimination against entrepreneurs and businesspeople that remain jobless, said Gabriella Bisi, the chairwoman of the "She Business" business club.
She said: "I've met an increasing number of cases of entrepreneurs and managers, both men and women, aged past 45, that remain unemployed. There have even been suicides. They get an unemployment pay of 75% of the minimum wage. I am proposing an amendment of the law of unemployment along the lines of Switzerland's model, where one gets two years of unemployment pay that is high enough to allow you to get on with your life, to pay off your current debts and to look for another job".
Gabriella Bisi says that it is hard for people that are over 45 years old to find a job and they say that in Romania, professional reconversion classes must be done far more responsibly.
Mrs. Bisi stressed that unemployment legislation should not be discriminatory, but a lot clearer that its current form and has proposed debating a model with additional insurance for increasing revenues for entrepreneurs should they become unemployed.
