The "Halewood Cellars" wine waiting award to take place in December

The fifth edition of the Wine Waiting Award "Halewood Wine Cellars" will be held between December 6th and December 9th, at the "Aro Palace" hotel of Braşov. The competition will pick the best sommelier in Romania, and the winner will represent Romania in other similar competitions hosted abroad.

This year"s edition is hosted by the "Halewood" Wine Cellars, in association with the Romanian Wine Waiting Association, under the aegis of The International Association of Sommeliers (ASI).

The event is aimed at connoisseurs of the HoReCa segment. Registrations can be made between October 25th, November 15th, and selected candidates will receive training between December 6th, December 8th, for the semifinal and the final of the competition. The training session will take place in the "Rhein & Cie 1892" wine cellars of Azuga.

The roots of the wine waiting profession go back all the way to the 14th century. Nowadays, the sommelier can be considered as a personality of the oenological world, as he is tasked with recommending the wines that go best with each dish.
