The heads of Microsoft Romania prefer investment funds

The shares of the software maker, listed on the ATS of the BSE

When it comes to their savings, two managers of "Microsoft Romania" say that they prefer mutual funds rather than direct investments in the stock market, mostly due to their risk profile.

In spite of all this, Michal Golebiewski, head of marketing and operations at "Microsoft România", and Cosmin Rublinceanu, the company's CFO, said that they are extremely pleased with the fact that local investors will have direct access to the shares of their company, after trading in the shares of "Microsoft Corp." began yesterday on the ATS of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

Brokerage firm "Tradeville" yesterday kicked off trading in the stocks of "Microsoft Corp", "Google Inc.", "McDonald's Corp", "JPMorgan Chase&Co" and "Merck&Co Inc".

Dan Paul, the vice-president of the BSE said: "We are living in a globalized world, meaning that we do not need a lot of effort to buy American stocks".

He said that the new American stocks belong to successful companies, which are good examples for investors, due to their effective management.

Valentin Cismaru, deputy general manager of "Tradeville", said that the American shares brought to the Romanian market are liquid on their home markets, and the ATS platform of the BSE serves as an access gateway to this core liquidity.

"These companies allow us t participate in the growth of companies with businesses in countries whose economies are on the rise, such as Asia or Latin America", Mr. Cismaru said.

In April, "Tradeville" brought to the BSE the stocks of Apple, Intel, Coca-Cola and Bank of America.

The broker will act as a market maker for these shares, meaning that investors will always have a counterparty for the trades they want to make.

The brokerage firm started in 2011 bringing to the ATS of the BSE shares of foreign companies such as Adidas, Deutsche Telekom, E.On, Christian Dior, Danone, Heineken, L'Oreal, Bayer and SAP.
