The Italians from Padova are interested in investing in Arad

Business men from the Italian Province of Padova have shown interest in investing in the Arad county, especially in the industrial areas, where prices and employment costs are very low. After an italian committee discovered several development opportunities in the Arad County, the leaders of the Province of Padova and the Arad County Council decided to support the investors. As a consequence, the Italian committee, which consisted of Gino Gastaldi, Flavio Manzolini and Roberto Ongaro, the commissioned administrator of the public company "MIP Engineering", have arranged a three-day visit in the city and county of Arad, during the course of which they met with the management of the Curtici-Arad Free Zone, Arad International Ariport, and Cargo Terminal.

The industrial and geothermal springs areas are the main sites the Italians visited and the ones they would like to invest in and develop, in collaboration with the people of Arad. Roberto Ongaro stated that: "There are real development possibilities and the objectives of the Province of Padova can relate to those of the Arad county and, toghether, we can obtain an economic growth that will allow us to compete on the global markets. We are interested in developing common projects for accessing structural funds that can be used to build small tourist resorts in the geothermal springs areas." Santana, Curtici, Pancota, Simand, Zimandul Nou and Olari are only few places where the Italians could support the development of industrial areas. With this in mind, several discussions have taken place with the mayors of the previously mentioned towns, who are interested in developing industrial areas and who can offer building lots with utilities, as well as the necessary manpower. Flavio Mazolini declared that: "The industrial areas of the Arad county are of great interest, especially because of the cheap labour and the opportunity to cut many of the production costs."

The Italians have also promised to support the development of marketing studies, but also of projects concerning access to structural funds.
