According to the budget of the ministry for 2010 which was approved by the government, the Office of the State Interests and Privatization in the Industry Sector, controlled by the Ministry of the Economy, expects to cash 200 million Euros.
The numerous interests still owned by the State, through the Ministry of the Economy, in particular those in the energy companies, make up the bulk of the Office"s revenues, which expects to make 205 million lei this year. The Department that manages the holdings of the state in the energy companies and in the defense industry has an expenditure budget of 249.7 million lei.
The Department expects privatizations to only account for 50 million lei of the expected total dividends received.
The government recently announced that it would design a national investment fund that would include all its holdings in various companies included in the portfolio of the Ministry of the Economy, and AVAS respectively.
