The new common agricultural policy is set to come into effect next year, and Romania doesn't have a program for national development, according to the statements of presidential advisor Adrian Rădulescu, who thinks that the blame for this lies with the Ministry of Agriculture.
"There are two weeks left before the beginning of the new Common Agricultural Policy (ed. note: which will be enacted between 2014 and 2020) and we do not have a national program for rural development", Mr. Rădulescu said, and he added: "I do not blame the current management of the Ministry of Agriculture for that, I blame everyone who has worked at the Ministry. The only thing I am criticizing the current management of the Ministry is the fact that it hasn't tried to draw up the current rural development program with the main actors of the agricultural market: banks, guarantee funds, farmers, implementation institutions".
Mr. Rădulescu also warned about the " wasting of money" on a far too high number of measures which are eligible for European funds. "If we want to waste the money, we will take 40 more measures. If we do not want to waste it, then we will draw up 5-6 measures, which we should confine to certain investments", Adrian Rădulescu mentioned.
