Understanding, developing, and utilizing artificial intelligence represent the major challenges of the moment. A project aimed at the national strategy on artificial intelligence has been publicly debated by the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digitalization. The Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digitalization, Bogdan-Gruia Ivan, stated, "Romania is preparing very seriously for the future, together with the best people it has today, both in the country and abroad. Today, we have started a very transparent process of debating future technologies and a legislative framework incorporated into Romania's artificial intelligence strategy, which will have an impact on both public policies and the private sector. From this perspective, we have brought together everything that involves the academic environment, universities, research institutes, and the entire industry in Romania."

During the launch of the public debate for the elaboration of the strategy, he emphasized its importance for the public sector: "We can have very clear scenarios in the foundation of public policies because we have open data that the state will be able to collect (...) using artificial intelligence to make decisions on public policies, as companies do today in terms of production and distribution. There are many systems today that use artificial intelligence to create up to 14,000 scenarios, for example, related to how they supply large stores, so we want to use all this technology in the public sector as well."According to him, the artificial intelligence strategy will also have an impact on the educational system: "I call on those who can provide very concrete input on this strategy to ensure its ethics, to do so over the next two and a half months, while we have it under discussion. We want to anticipate and prepare for what will happen in terms of future job changes (...) we have research that began a year and a half ago at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and the Romanian Digitalization Agency, which managed to gather information from the academic environment, the Romanian Academy, the private sector, and the industry. In addition to the Romanian Academy, universities, and the entire industry, in my opinion, even the church sector can be consulted in this direction because we are talking about human rights."

Bogdan-Gruia Ivan expressed his desire for a clear form of this strategy to be finalized by the end of the year, to be adopted by a government decision.
