The teaching career bonus is awarded in October

President Klaus Iohannis promulgated the law approving the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 87/2023, which establishes that the teaching career bonus and the professional career bonus for teaching and administrative staff, respectively, are granted starting in October of each year and can be used until October of the following year inclusive.

Law on the approval of GEO no. 87/2023 provides clarifications regarding the awarding of these premiums, borne from non-reimbursable external funds. The teaching career bonus and the professional career bonus are granted starting in October of each year and can be used up to and including October of the following year, according to the law. The normative text in force stipulates that the teaching career premium is granted in a single installment, namely in October 2023, and can be used until October 2024 inclusive. The law also establishes that the teaching career bonus is also granted for the following school/university years, respectively during the school/university years 2023 - 2024 up to the school/university year 2026 - 2027 inclusive, to support the teaching career of the teaching staff in the education system pre-university and state university, in accordance with the objectives of the Education and Employment Program 2021 - 2027 and within the limits of the funds available for this purpose and will be able to be used until October of the following year inclusive. The ordinance provides that the career premium is granted electronically. "Administrative staff from pre-university and university education, active in the school year, respectively academic year, 2022 - 2023, benefit from a professional career premium on electronic support, within the limit of an annual ceiling of 500 lei net/school/university year borne from The Education and Employment Program 2021 - 2027, within the limits of the budget available for this measure category and in accordance with the eligibility rules of the operational program", the normative act indicates. According to the amendments brought by the deputies to the ordinance, the staff from the pre-university education, respectively the teaching staff, auxiliary teaching staff from the state pre-university education, as well as the teaching staff from the state university education system who hold the didactic degree of lecturer, head of works, will benefit from this program /lecturer and university assistant, as well as auxiliary teaching staff, from the university education system, active in a school/university year starting from the school/university year 2022 - 2023 up to the school/university year 2026 - 2027 inclusive. Also, the administrative staff from the pre-university education active in a school year starting from the 2022 - 2023 school year up to the 2026 - 2027 school year inclusive, as well as the administrative staff from the university education active in a academic year starting with the academic year 2022 - 2023 until the academic year 2026 - 2027. The representatives of the County School Inspectorates and the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest draw up the list of final beneficiaries, taking into account the information communicated and assumed by the representatives of the state pre-university education units. State universities draw up the list of final beneficiaries according to their own procedures. The lists of final beneficiaries are drawn up by September 20 of each year, starting in 2024.
