EnglishIoan Toma, the representative of the Canadian-based Intelcan, has announced that the Brasov - Ghimbav International Airport Project will be financed by three undisclosed banks from Austria, Switzerland and Portugal. The investment has been evaluated at some 100 million EUR.
Toma said construction works were going to start this year and require some 18 months. The airport will have a traffic capacity of nearly one and a half million passengers per year and will have a passenger terminal and a cargo terminal.
The Canadian company will be the majority shareholder in the airport management company. The list of shareholders will include the local authorities of Brasov, Covasna and Harghita.
