14 mayoralties, the Timi County Council şi and the Mayoralty of Timişoara have signed an agreement to create the Association for Intercommunity Development - Timişoara Growth Pole, by which the Authorities are looking to attract European funding. There are also projects which involve collaboration between cities. The mayor of the town of Sânmihaiul Român, Viorel Bara, said: "One of the opportunities we are looking for, would be the extension of the tramway line for the Polonă area in Timi oara towards our commune. A project which our commune has an interest in would be the rehabilitation of the road between the commune of Sânmihaiul Român and Săcălaz".
