Timisoara To Have Over 2,000 Housing Units In Large Residential Compounds

Though Timisoara has been lagging behind other Romanian cities in terms of the number of housing units available in residential compounds, things are about to change as over 2,000 such units have been slated for commissioning in the near future, according to the realtor Casadomi.

New apartments are generally targeted for the middle class and priced at 600 - 800 EUR / sq.m., but can reach 1,500 EUR / sq.m. As for rent, it can go up to 500 EUR / month for a three-room apartment in a new building. Casadomi estimate that prices are not likely to go down in the predictable future, as demand stays ahead of the supply and the price of land is hiking ceaselessly.

Besides apartments, villas are also available for an approximate 175,000 EUR for 200 square meters built and 600 square meters of surrounding land if located in the outskirts or 200,000 - 500,000 EUR if located downtown. As there is less and less available land, there is a trend to demolish old buildings and replace them with taller new buildings.
