Businessman Adrian Secelean, owner of Intercom Sfântu-Gheorghe, said in a statement issued for "Bursa", that he has not yet reached a decision on the future of "Toptherm" Ghimbav, which was acquired at the end of November 2008, following an auction organized by liquidator "Maestro SPRL Constanţa".

"Right now, the constructions sector is going through a crisis. Nothing is being built anymore, and because of this it is difficult to resume operation of Toptherm Ghimbav", Secelean said, claiming that he has already made a business plan for the Ghimbav company.

"Intercom" Sfântu Gheorghe, that has a 49,56% stake in "Electroprecizia" SA Săcele, won the auction for the assets of "Toptherm" Ghimbav, by offering the Suggested Opening Bid of 3.56 million lei, at the end of November 2008.

Although seven companies had expressed their interest in the assets, only two of them purchased the tender book, and only "Intercom" Sfântu Gheorghe participated in the auction.

According to leader of Toptherm"s union, Costică Olteanu, "Intercom" officials wanted to know whether it was possible to resume the production of aluminum and PVC joinery at the Ghimbav factory.

"Toptherm" Ghimbav is a spin-off of IAR, whose main activity was the production of aluminum and PVC joinery. The company entered voluntary liquidation in the summer of 2007, and went bankrupt in Spring 2008.
