EnglishToyota Romania, the importer of the Toyota and Lexus brands, has raised its full-year sales target by over 10% to 10,000 units, according to company officials, quoted by NewsIn. Two months ago, the company raised its sales estimates for 2007 from 8,000 to 9,000 vehicles.
In the first eight months of 2007, Toyota Romania"s sales totalled 6,587 cars, recording an 85,8% increase from 3,545 vehicles sold in the same period last year. The company sold 6,501 Toyota cars and 86 Lexus cars.
In the first half of 2007, the company held a 2.6% share of the total new car market, according to the Association of Automotive Manufacturers and Importers (APIA). Last year, Toyota Romania sold 6,161 vehicles.
